Remco 1964 Hamilton's Invaders
LIGHT BLUE Defenders Army Men Variant
Listing is for a Remco 1964 Hamilton's Invaders LIGHT BLUE Defenders Army
Men Variant.
Back in 1964, Remco attempted to capitalize on the Sci-Fi craze of the
1950s when it released the Hamilton's Invaders series. The
basic idea is that HUGE, UGLY BUGS have invaded earth...what are the mere
humans to do? There were various "almost neon colored" bugs
attacking blue molded soldiers - who drove tanks and other misc.
"military" vehicles. The line also included child sized helmets and
darts - we assume the idea was to "insert" yourself into the action - set
up the aliens and 'blow' them away with your dart gun while wearing your
protective helmet.
This listing is for a set of the Blue Defenders - LIGHT BLUE VARIANT
based upon the Hamilton's Invaders
theme. The complete set of 6 includes:
Soldier Throwing Grenade
Soldier Firing Rifle Held to Chest
Soldier Firing Pistol
Soldier Stabbing with Bayonet
Soldier Aiming Rifle
Soldier Firing Bazooka
Much more obvious in person - the 'light blue variant' difference is
stark when compared to the common dark blue figure. Here's a reference
example:
