Ted Mack Old Gold Cigarettes Original Concept Art Amateur Hour
This listing is for an originalset of Old Gold Cigarette
premium concept art of Ted Mack's (from Amateur Hour) and
an unknown redheaded female! From a long forgotten day when seemingly
everyone smoked and the stars of the day actually hocked them on television!
Old Gold, a major cigarette label, was the primary sponsor of Amateur
Hour. This artwork set comes from the original archives of Sam Gold -
one of the most prolific premium creators of the early to mid twentieth
century. As far as we know, this premium set never went to production.
The idea presented was that of a "smoking" figure - fold down the tab, stick
a "cigarette" in it's mouth, and light it! Crazy idea - not sure if
they meant for these to eventually be made of plastic. All one needed
was to have this cardboard figure going up in smoke - and maybe your house
with it! The artwork measures slightly around 3" x 5". Here is a
